Pre-Primary Program
Age 18mo - 3YR The pre-primary program follows an unhurried pace in order to support the child in this early experience of independence from family. Activities are simple and suited to their need, interests, and capabilities. Children are introduced to Montessori concepts as they learn the satisfaction of completing a task and as they assimilate language and develop communication skills.
“THE FIRST ESSENTIAL FOR THE CHILD’S DEVELOPMENT IS CONCENTRATION. THE CHILD WHO CAN CONCENTRATE IS IMMENSELY HAPPY.” Other areas of learning include large muscle movement and fine motor exercises for hand-eye coordination. Practical life exercises such as pouring, sweeping, dusting, buttoning, zipping, and table setting are introduced early, which provides opportunities for children to care for themselves and their environment. Lessons of grace and courtesy are practiced daily to help the children learn to share things and be considerate of others.
